According to the National Retail Federation, nearly 60% of consumers want to receive gift cards this holiday season! As we look forward to the new year, Americans will have gift cards on hand, and merchants will be offering exciting ways to encourage consumers to use them.

It’s time for another holiday that’s all about savings! The second National Use Your Gift Card Day will be celebrated by participating retailers and restaurants on Saturday, January 16, across the country.
National Use Your Gift Card Day, on January 16, 2021, exists to remind shoppers to use those gift cards you received at Christmas! Are you saving your gift cards for something special or have you already forgotten you have them?
Introduced in 2020, this shopping day follows the holidays when many consumers receive gift cards as presents. According to the data analytics company InMarket, the average shopper spent 17.6% more on gift cards in 2020 compared with 2019.
Time to check wallets, purses and e-mails for any unused gift cards. American consumers and merchants are gearing up for the second annual National Use Your Gift Card Day™ taking place on Saturday, January 16.
